Royal College of Nursing
The challenges of supporting nurse education and mentorship processes on busy wards and clinical settings has long been an issue for the nursing profession. Inspired by the notion that there should be a change in paradigm for supporting student nurses in clinical practice, the Royal college of Nursing commissioned a project across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland to collate ideas innovations associated with this potential change.
Mandy Ashton was the lead for this international project and co- authored the final report and recommendations with the RCN. “From today’s support in practice to tomorrow’s vision for excellence” has become a major tool for change within the nursing education agenda.
